To a good friend.

He, himself, a self-proclaimed co-dependent, made me change my opinion of life. He was part of my core group of friends, we challenged each other and believed in each other. Pretty banter turned into unspoken sorrows, smiles turned into grunts, but we still loved each other. He became one of my closest friends; still to this day we correlate plans and events. You see he brought stability to me and my life. He thought he needed me but in fact I needed him.  To regain faith and trust in people.

Unwittingly, by becoming a member of my family, of those I trust, he made me open my doors, and even more so repaid that faith with no injustice. And I love him for that. It’s these kind of people that keep the world ticking, that keep singers singing and drummers drumming. They’re the heartbeat of our civilisation; the ones that keep us non-believers moving. Trust is a hard word to gain and even harder to prove.
